Day 41 – (8/27/15) Wiluna to Gwalia in Leonora
After leaving Wiluna, we headed to Gwalia just past Leonora. We visited the Hoover B&B and walked around the grounds imagining what life was like back in the days of the Gold Rush. There is still an active open pit gold mining operation that you can view from the hill top which was amazing to look at.
We walked through the ghost town at the base of the hill where many of the gold miners used to live way back when.
We spent the night in our first hotel room in 24 days. It was a very basic trailer style room at the Leonora Motor Inn. Boy was it nice to live in something other than the truck and trailer for a night…
